Valentine Singers
Who
The Valentine Singers is a friendly group of some 80 singers,
of mixed ages and backgrounds. The choir has gained a reputation,
both locally and further afield, for high quality performances with
a friendly atmosphere. See our reviews
Where and when
Based in Barkingside, on the border of London and Essex, we rehearse
each Friday evening at Gearies Junior School, Gants Hill Crescent (near
to Gants Hill Station on the Central Line). We give at least four
main concerts a year as well as singing at various events, often
by invitation, mainly in the local community. We have also toured
in England and abroad, most recently to KRAKÓW in Poland and Canterbury in Kent
What
Our repertoire embraces operatic and lighter stage music as well
as traditional choral works. Recent concerts include Beethoven Missa
Solemnis, Mendlessohn Elijah, Fauré Requiem, Bernstein Chichester
Psalms plus excerpts from shows, opera and operetta.
Opportunities
Vocal warm-up and training begin each rehearsal and other guidance
is available for those wishing to improve their skills. Solo opportunities
are sometimes offered to suitably experienced members.
Information
We are always pleased to welcome new members
