Section Reps
What is a section rep?
Every section of the choir has a 'rep' and 'deputy rep' whose role
is to act as a link between the section and the committee by offering
help and advice where necessary, representing members' views and
ideas and overseeing various organisational matters.
Who is my rep?
New members are usually welcomed by their section rep, or deputy
rep, or are introduced to them very soon. The rep will ask new members
for their contact details. There is a list of names and contact
information below.
What can I expect of my rep?
Your rep is there to help, as a first port of call, with any questions,
problems or ideas that you may have, whether about the music, your
position in the section, arrangements for a concert or other matters
to do with the choir. Where necessary, the rep will pass your questions/ideas
to a member of the committee.
When should I contact my rep?
If you are unexpectedly unable to attend a rehearsal you should
let your rep know as soon as possible. If you know in advance, you
can sign up on the chart at a previous rehearsal.
Why would my rep contact me?
If you have been away and missed important arrangements, or perhaps
just off ill for a while, you might get a friendly call from your
rep!
What else does a rep do?
Generally keeps tabs on who's around and what information needs
to be passed round or gathered in.
Your reps are helping all of the whole choir to run more smoothly
~ please help them to help you!

Responsibilities are not exclusive as many functions and tasks are
carried out by non committee members, and committee members often
take on roles within another’s remit
What is also not shown in the above, are the many and varied
responsibilities beyond conducting, which our musical director accepts
and to which she devotes many hours.
